The Kingdom of God and New Horizons
There is a reality beyond the material horizon
Jesus teaches us in His Gospel that “the Kingdom of God is within us” (Luke 17:21); therefore, there is a reality in our intimacy that we still insist on not perceiving. It is literally a matter of perspective.
This does not eliminate the external reality of the Kingdom of God, because the societies, cities, and nations in which we live are built precisely by what we carry within. We then understand that Heaven and Hell are realities that are first formed in our spirit and then externalized.
The Natural State of Being: the Eternal Spirit
There is a fascinating question in political science that seeks to understand the social and political functioning of a conglomerate that begins to assume a common name: What is the Natural State of Being and, consequently, of Society?
There are different opinions, but in summary, they revolve around the idea of whether we are naturally good or evil beings. That is, whether we are naturally good when alone and become corrupted when in society, or whether the opposite occurs.
In this regard, we cannot fail to point out the pre-existence of a consciousness prior to the material condition of human beings. Some believe that we are naturally a blank slate, that is, inane, empty beings that society fills with culturally established social norms that become fixed over time, without any supernatural pre-existence.
It is difficult to agree with the second belief about the natural state when we observe cultural similarities between societies that have never had contact. Additionally, there is still debate about the origin and what consciousness is.
I believe that one day we will come to understand what Religion intuits as the natural state of being before its material formation: the existence of the Eternal Spirit. (Gen. 1:27; John 4:24).
The Reality of Spiritual Life
The Ecumenical Christ teaches us in His Gospel, according to John, 3:5: “Very truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God.”
This reality occurs through the Universal Law of Reincarnation, which prepares our Spirit to perceive the existence of the Kingdom of God within itself, as discussed previously. Therefore, there is invariably a need for spiritual purification to perceive our God-given capacity to integrate ourselves in Him.
How then could we logically resolve everything that needs to be done in our spirit in just one material life? We need time for this, and that is what Jesus offers us until the moment of His Triumphant Return.
Concomitantly, society is increasingly understanding the need to resolve what lies within itself, that is, in the spirit. Nowadays, the world is experiencing an unprecedented search for higher meaning, a connection with the transcendent, that is, the Spiritual and Divine. In short, it seeks a connection with the Creator Himself, God.
Young people and adults of all ages seek ways to make them feel this connection, whether through religion, spirituality, or even therapy.
This reality and necessity can no longer be ignored. We are much more than the flesh we wear. We are Eternal Spirits, and we will reach an era when the "veil of Isis" will fall and we will begin to observe our Spiritual Homeland.
The natural development of the Spirit
As we've said, the Spiritual World is a reality. Whether we accept it or not, every day we have moments when our perception surpasses the material capacity of our gray matter.
These circumstances will become more frequent. What is our job in this regard? To educate ourselves spiritually. This is completely contrary to the idea of forcing development. Spiritual Education promotes natural development.
Figuratively speaking, spiritual education should happen just like when we go to the gym to progressively strengthen our muscles. When we respect our body's capacity and timing, we grow. When this doesn't happen, the muscle tears. Recovery then becomes sufferable.
This spiritual education happens when we seek to feel, understand, and reflect on what is happening in us and thus find the Kingdom of God that is within us, as Jesus teaches us (Luke 17:21). Now, what would be an effective practice for this?
The Christ of God reveals: “Be vigilant and pray” (Matthew 26:41). In other words, talk to God, meditate on His Divine Laws, and work to do good, helping others, and taking care of your physical and mental health. As a result, the reality of the Spiritual World will become increasingly present in our lives, and we will see it through the eyes of Jesus, our Divine Master and Lord.
New Horizons
Brother Paiva, in his article “Sea Route to the Indies” of the Spirit, comments: “Life is eternal, as is authentic love. The Book of Final Prophecies reveals this reality when it envisions a New Heaven, a New Earth, and a New Jerusalem (Revelation 21:1-2). This is the homeland to which every exile longs to return. However, a wonderful thing will happen this time: our homeland, Heaven, will come to meet us, descending from on high to Earth (Revelation 21:9-11).
This descent occurs through the application of what has been discussed here. By understanding and comprehending the Kingdom of God, which is within us, we will bear good fruits through actions inspired, intuited, and financed by the Divine Master Himself. Before any action, one must be educated.
By the way, when Jesus returns and consecrates the emergence of the New Jerusalem, a new story will emerge. Will we be ready for it?
